(Miami, FL) June 20, 2018– The Wharf, has rapidly become the go-to pop-up event space for those wanting to enjoy some of the best attributes Miami has to offer. The venue which sits on a bend in the Miami River, boasts a unique footprint, and has welcomed thousands of guests since opening this past November 2017. But even being the “new kid on the block” this dynamic spot is about to show its new and improved version; enclosed in glass with air-conditioning.

Located just a few blocks from the Brickell/Downtown Miami area, the venue is accessible by both car or boat, (which has made it very attractive). With its varied array of special events, including functions catering to music lovers, art enthusiasts, foodies, dog lovers, active professionals and families, its popularity has consistently risen. The Wharf ownership have been aware of the South Florida weather and wanted to ensure patrons could enjoy the atmosphere, even during the hottest Miami summer days.

This weekend, guests will experience the new Wharf, with the “tent” component now modified. Eventstar Structures, the company hired to erect the original structure, were commissioned to add a modular glass wall system to it. “We are pleased to be part of this project and hope guests will enjoy the new version, now enclosed and climatized,” stated Alain Perez, CEO of Eventstar Structures.

Secret Sauce was asked to adapt, the [original] venue design they were part of, and execute an upgraded indoor atmosphere, for The Wharf’s newly cooled tent. In keeping with the signature nautical theme, custom blue and white curtains were added, whitewash cladding and marine rope accents flank motorized shades that auto-retract, as the sun sets on the west side of the venue. “Our goal was to allow guests to experience an upgraded interior environment, without losing the feeling of the open waterfront concept that everyone has come to love,” stated Heather Read, principal at Secret Sauce.

“We have worked very hard to create a unique, welcoming and non-pretentious environment at The Wharf. We feel that’s why locals and the community have embraced our concept, and why so many incredible companies and brands have chosen us as their special event location. This venue modification was a natural step to ensure our guests were comfortable, and could still enjoy the essence of the location,” stated Emi Guerra.

The Wharf is a precursor to a permanent mixed-use food and entertainment destination known as “Riverside Wharf” on the [same] site. The Wharf is located at 114 SW North River Drive, Miami, Florida.
